Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang valley trek is a jovial journey to a valley in Langtang region that is full of wilderness. This 10 days amazing journey starts from the capital city of Kathmandu, Ends at the Kanjin Ri in Langtang valley. In between the journey you will be able to encounter some beautiful villages, pristine forests, Langtang Conservation area. Which is full of wildlife and above all the fascinating views of Langtang ranges. Though the valley is quite near the capital city. It is still an unknown area to many trekkers but the region has been able to keep its beauty untouched and intact. Its dry, arid and wild landscape resembles that of the Tibetan plateaus make this place even more mystic and alluring.

How does the journey to Langtang valley go?

Langtang valley trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. From where the trail traverses through villages, forests and bamboo trees to Lama Hotel. Somewhere in between, we enter the Langtang Conservation area-an area full of wildlife especially pandas. If lucky, you may be able to get a short glimpse of panda within the dense bamboo woods. As we go deeper we open up to a spectacular valley of Langtang with stunning views of Langtang range in the backdrop. The valley gives us a special vibe of Tibetan valley. The prayer flags, mani stones, and stupas on the way reflect the Buddhism culture prevalent in that area. In the valley, We can visit the cheese factory, Kyangin gompa and climb up to Kyangin Ri for stunning views of Langtang valley and Langtang ranges.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Arrive at the airport in Kathmandu! You will be received by our representative and transferred to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and spend rest of the time on your own. Our representative will brief you about your plan ahead. Stay at the hotel for the night. (Breakfast included)

Early in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to your ride for a drive ahead to Syabrubensi. It takes us around seven hours to reach Syabrubensi. On the way, we pass scenic countryside landscape, villages, farmlands and get some glimpses of mountains. We pass the Trishuli river and drive ahead to Dhunche. From here, we further drive until we reach Syabrubensi. We stay at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Today, we start our actual trekking journey. We have our breakfast at the guesthouse and start walking along the trail to Lama Hotel. We pass beautiful forests of rhododendron and oak along a river and continue our walk to Bamboo. If lucky, we may encounter some species of fauna here, especially pandas amid the forests of bamboo. We further walk and pass hanging beehives, birds and other wildlife in the forests to Lama Hotel. Upon arrival, we rest at our room in a guesthouse. We spend our night in the guesthouse. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

We leave Lama hotel and start ascending steeply through the forests of oaks, hemlocks, maple and rhododendron. We continue our walk until we reach Langtang khola. From here, we start getting beautiful glimpses of Mt. Langtang Lirung amidst the gaps between the trees of the forest. We follow the trail and pass pastures, meadows and Tamang villages on the route. Finally, we cross a stream and climb up along water mills and prayer flags to the large settlement of Langtang. We open up to the beautiful Langtang valley that is adorned with flat roofed Tibetan style houses and farmlands. We stop at a guesthouse in Langtang for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Our trail winds up through the village of Langtang to a ridge with a large chorten on it. The trail further climbs up with some fascinating views of mani walls. We cross a stream and enter the village of Mundu. We further cross a few streams along the way to Kyanjin gompa. As we move ahead, we will be blessed with an impressive view of icefall flowing down from the peaks of Kimshung and Langtang Lirung. As you reach the gompa, you will be blessed with astounding views of mountains in the Langtang range. You can expect to get spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, Tsergo Ri, Kyangin Ri, Ganja La, Langshisa Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Naya Kangla peak and Yala peak. We stay at a guesthouse for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Today, we spend our day exploring the Langtang valley. Early in the morning, we visit the gompa and head towards the famous cheese factory in Langtang village. If interested, you may buy some as a souvenir to bring back home. Then we start climbing up to the highest point of our Langtang valley trek, Kyanjin Ri. From this point, you can get breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung, the Langtang range, Yansa Tsenji and Kinshung. After spending some time on the Ri, we return back to the gompa for overnight stay. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Today, we retrace our steps back via the same route with astonishing views of mountains to Lama Hotel. We stay at a tea house in Lama hotel for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

We continue retracing our steps back via the same lush landscape, forests and hills to Syabrubensi. Walking along the villages and interacting with locals can be a great opportunity to learn about their unique culture and lifestyle. We stay at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Leaving Syabrubensi, we catch our ride and return back to Kathmandu. We drive back along the scenic countryside landscape to Kathmandu today. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check into the hotel and rest for a while. Stay at your hotel in Kathmandu for the night. (Breakfast and lunch included)

We conclude our journey today. You will be driven to the airport for your journey ahead. (Breakfast included)
