Druk Path Trek start with a sightseeing tour in Paro. As soon as you land at the Paro airport in Bhutan, you will escort to your hotel for check-in. Sightseeing Tour around Paro starts with a hike up to the Tiger’s Nest monastery which is a beautiful monastery perched into a dramatic location on to the top of the hill. You can further visit Jele Dzong and walk through beautiful dzongs, villages, and forests along the way to Jangchulakha. DETAILED ITINERARY
Fly to Paro above the scenic Himalayan ranges below. As you arrive at Paro airport, a representative of our company will pick you up and escort you to your hotel for check in. Freshen up and enjoy lunch before a sightseeing journey ahead. First, you will be escorted to Ta dzong museum, a treasure of many historical and religious antiques and art crafts. Next we head to Paro Rinpung dzong and then to Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Last we visit the ruins of Drugyal Dzong, an old fortress, and stay at the hotel for the night.
Today is an exciting day as we will visit the famous Tiger's Nest monastery in Paro, a beautiful monastery perched atop a cliff in a dramatic location. We hike up to the monastery for one to one and a half hours until we reach it. From the cliff, you can get spectacular views of Paro city as well. The monastery lies on the spot where the great Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown in on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave. After visiting the monastery, you will be escorted to other important sites in Paro if you weren't able to visit them on day 1 due to time constraints. You can then enjoy the rest of the time on your own.
Get set for a short trekking journey ahead. From Paro, we start climbing up to Jele dzong. The trail gradually ascends until we reach the camp. On a clear day, we can get amazing views of snowcapped mountains around, with Paro valley beneath. As we climb up to the dzong, we can view its remains - a Lhathang with a statue of Buddha Sakyamuni has been built here, which can be explored. We spend our night at Jele dzong today.
Leaving the dzong, we start climbing up to Jangchulakha today. We climb for an hour and a half through thick alpine and rhododendron forests until we reach our destination for the day. Our walk is full of scenic views - we can see our campsite and herds of yaks grazing along the pastures. We stop at our camp at 3600 meters and stay there for the night.
We continue our climb up through the ridge. As we climb, we will be showered with wonderful views of Mt. Jumolhari along with other neighboring peaks. From the top of the ridge, we descend to Jimilang Tso lake and enjoy our lunch. We further descend through lush fir forests to Langrithang, our stopping point for the night.
Today, we leave Langrithang and walk through fir and rhododendron forests to Tsaluna monastery, considered a sacred site of Guru Rinpoche. From the monastery, we descend along the Tsaluna village and drive to Thimpu. Upon arrival, you can rest or walk through the streets of Thimpu. Stay at the hotel for the night.
Concluding our journey, you will be driven to Paro and escorted to the airport for your journey ahead.
