Island Peak climbing with Everest Base Camp is an awesome journey that takes you to the top of the world i.e. Everest Base Camp with a challenge of climbing the adventurous Island Peak in the Everest region of Nepal. It is a package designed for a passionate climber who never gets enough of adventure. For this, you have to be physically very fit and should have a level of experience in peak climbing. It is a strenuous and revised version of Everest Base Camp Trek. Your trekking period is added by 5 days from the normal route to climb up to the Island peak that lies in the Everest region of Nepal.

Island Peak climbing with Everest Base Camp Trekking offers some impressive views of the mountain in the Everest region of Nepal. Also known as Imja Tse (Island peak), it is one of the most frequented peaks by the peak climbers. In the climbing season, you can find flocks of trekkers in a row to obtain the climbing permit to the peak. Island peak climbing is not technically difficult and therefore can be a great choice of climbing experience for amateur climbers. Island Peak climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which is followed by a walk up and down via the mountainous terrain to Everest Base Camp.

You enter Sagarmatha National Park and various Sherpa villages on the way. Namche is one of the interesting towns where you can interact with local and get some insights on people, their lifestyle. After gorgeous views of mountains from Everest Base Camp, we follow a trail to Island Peak Base Camp and prepare for a climb above. The peak offers some marvelous and close up views of mountains in Everest region that includes Mt. Ama Dablam, Mera Peak, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Everest and many more.

Day 1:- Welcome to Kathmandu

Arrive at the airport in Kathmandu! You will be received by our representative and transferred to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and spend rest of the time on your own. Our representative will brief you about your plan ahead. Stay at the hotel for the night. (Breakfast included)

Day 2:- Kathmandu sightseeing

Today you will be headed to the UNESCO listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu. After your breakfast, your guide will receive you at the hotel and transfer you to the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Here, you can explore the historical monuments, temples and palaces built during the medieval period in Nepal. It is a fine piece of art, culture and history. After exploring the artistic beauty of those palaces, temples and museum, you will be headed to Swayambhunath stupa, a reflection a Buddhist religion at a top of a hill that offers a picturesque view of Kathmandu city as a whole. Next on the sightseeing journey is the ancient and popular Pashupatinath temple. It is a temple of Lord Shiva that holds high value amongst the Hindu pilgrims. We wander around the temple, explore its religious value and head towards Boudhanath stupa. We enjoy our evening around the stupa placed on the three layered mandala and wrap up our journey for the day. You will be dropped at the hotel for the night. (Breakfast included)

Day 3:- Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding

We take an early flight to Lukla. You will be picked up at the hotel and escorted to the airport for the flight. After the scenic flight to Lukla, you will meet your crew members at Lukla who will escort you for your journey ahead. From Lukla, we walk down to Dudhkoshi river and follow our trail to Phakding. We stop at a guesthouse in Phakding for the evening.(Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 4:- Trek to Nacmhe Bazaar

Today, after breakfast, we continue our walk through beautiful forests of pine and walk along a beautiful landscape to Namche. On the way, we enter into Sagarmatha National Park and pass various Sherpa villages. Namche is also considered as the gateway to Everest as it is the only path that takes you to the Everest Base Camp. Namche is a vibrant town full of shops, hotels and lodges. It’s just fun to stroll along the narrow path of Namche. We stop at a guesthouse in Namche for the evening. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 5:- Hike to Everest View Hotel

Early in the morning, we hike up to Everest View Hotel for some wonderful and close up views of mountains in Everest region of Nepal. We can enjoy the magnificence of mountains with a sip of a tea or coffee. On the way, we can visit a local museum full of photo galleries. If you want to walk a little longer, you can visit Khumjung village as well. In the evening, we return back to our guesthouse at Namche. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 6:- Trek to Tengboche

After a day of acclimatization in Namche, we continue through our trail to Tengboche. At Tengboche, we can visit the famous Tengboche monastery. It is a largest monastery in the region. The monastery is not only known for its religious value, the wonderful views that the periphery of this monastery offers is something surreal that makes it one of the best vantage points in Everest region for mountain views. Today, after our tiring walk, we stay at a guesthouse in Tengboche for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 7:- Trek to Dingboche

Early in the morning, we visit the monastery and admire the magnificent views of mountains specially the views of Ama Dablam. Then we continue towards Dingboche. We descend down for a while, cross a river and start climbing up. Slowly, we can notice the change in atmosphere. We pass the pastures and summer settlement on the way to Dingboche. We stop at a guesthouse in Dingboche for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 8:- Acclimatization in Dingboche

As we have gained enough height, acclimatization becomes a must. Therefore, today, we walk up to Nagerjun for a hike and return back to Dingboche for the night. We can admire the beauty of mountainous terrain as we hike up to Nagerjun today. We stay at a guesthouse in Dingboche for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 9:- Trek to Lobuche

Leaving Dingboche, we follow our trail to the base camp. At first, we descend down to Pheriche and then join a trail near Dugla. We climb up a hill steep up for astounding views of Mt. Pumori and other neighboring peaks of Mt. Everest. We then continue through our trail and walk continuously until we reach Lobuche. We stop at a guesthouse in Lobuche for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 10:- Trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorekshep

We continue our walk up along a rocky moraine with beautiful views of icefalls and Khumbu glacier. We ascend up through the rocky moraines and descend down to Gorekshep. Now, we continue ahead through a rocky path to the Everst Base Camp. At the base camp, we can witness some amazing views of mountains in Everwst region though Mt. Everest itself is invisible here. After conquering the base camp, we return back to Gorekshep and stay there at a guesthouse for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 11:- Hike to Kalapatthar and back to Lobuche

Today is the day when we will be blessed with the awesome views of mountains and sunrise over the snow clad mountains. Early in the morning, we hike up to Kalapatthar to catch the glimpse of sunrise over the Everest. From the Kalapatthar, we can applaud some mesmerizing views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu and many other neighboring peaks. After a wonderful hike up to Kalapatthar, we return back to Lobuche and stay at a guesthouse there for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 12:- Lobuche to Chhukung

We leave Lobuche and head towards Kongma La Base Camp via the rote of Khumbu glacier. The ascend up to the Kongma La pass can be quite strenuous but the wonderful views around will keep you engaged. From the pass, we descend down to the Imja valley. From the valley, we again descend down to Chhukung. Chhukung is actually a summer settlement of that area. In the evening, upon arrival in Chhukung, we check our equipments and get ready for our climb up. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 13:- Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp

Today, we get for our first ascend up to the Island peak base camp. We climb up through a fairly steep trail. We first climb south and then towards east until we reach the main line of the valley. We then climb up towards the Island peak base camp. Upon arrival, we set up our camps for our stay today. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 14:- Pre climbing training

After breakfast, we warm up for our climbing journey ahead. The peak climbing coach will train us on some peak climbing techniques and some do’s and do not’s of climbing. We will be trained on use of climbing gadgets like axe, crampons, ropes, etc. we can practice on use of gadgets and spend our time building up our confidence for climb. Overnight stay at camps (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 15:- Summit the Island Peak

We wake up early in morning at around 12 to 1 a.m sharp. We have our breakfast and get set for our climb. As the weather in the peak gets worst after noon due to winds and harsh air, we start early to wrap up the climb till noon. We climb up with the help of ropes following the footsteps of the climbing coach. There are two new crevasses on our way to peak. We use ladder to cross them and make it to the peak. From the summit, we get some outstanding views of mountains around. It feels something like heavenly to be at that place. After our successful climb up the summit of Island Peak, we descend down to the base camp for overnight stay. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 16:- Trek to Pangboche

Today, we start our descend back down. We continue through the same trail and walk back through valley of Khumbu and same Sherpa villages to Pangboche. Pangboche is a beautiful village in the Khumbu region that is surrounded by the wonderful peaks in Everest region. It is surrounded by Everest in north, Amadablam and Thamserku in east and Kongde in south. We stay at a guesthouse in Pangboche for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 17:- Trek to Namche Bazaar

We descend down through same path to Namche bazaar. We stay at a guesthouse in Namche for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 18:- Namche bazaar to Lukla

We further retrace our footsteps to Lukla via Phakding. We stay at a guesthouse in Lukla for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 19:- Fly to Kathmandu

Early in the morning, we take a return flight back to Kathmandu from the Lukla airport. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel in Kathmandu. Check into the hotel and rest for the day. (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 20:- Departure day

We conclude our journey today. You will be driven to airport for your journey ahead. (Breakfast included)
