Trekking in Everest Region!
Trekking in the Everest Region has been dramatically increasing its number of travelers from the globe due to the presence of the world’s highest Himalayas in this region. Nepal is home to eight out of the fourteen high mountains on Earth; Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Annapurna (m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (m), and Mt. Makalu (8485m) and out of these, the Everest region offers the stunning vistas of Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and of course! Mt. Everest. The unique Sherpa culture and tradition, their generous hospitality, and cheerful greeting are other attractions of the Everest region. Walking along the trails, you will encounter varieties of wildlife and vegetation like Daphe, Musk Deer, colorful Pheasants, Himalayan Thars, Mountain goat, beautiful rivers and lakes, glacier, and many more. The Everest Short Trek begins!
With a breathtaking mountainous flight from the capital city; Kathmandu to the land enclosed by the high Himalayas; Lukla, the Everest short trek begins. Then, the trekking continues towards the village of Phakding crossing a suspension bridge over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi River and passing the quaint Chaurikharka village. Enjoying the vistas of beautiful mountains, landscapes, and traditional village setting throughout the trip, you reach the attractive and popular town in the Khumbu region; Namche Bazaar.
Here, you will witness the view of Mt. Everest as well as sunset and sunrise that makes the scene of mountains more captivating. Reaching to Namche, you will pass many suspension bridges, lush vegetation, rhododendron and pine forests. Also, the trails take you to the entrance of the Sagarmatha National Park. You will get to witness the magnificent views of Mt. Lhotse (8516m, Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m), Mt. Kusum Khanguru (6,367m), Mt Tawache (6,367m), and other mountains. Further walking leads you toward the Tengboche. Tengboche is famous for the largest and ancient monastery in the Khumbu region. Tengboche Monastery offers you the great views of mountains as well as the landscapes of the Khumbu valley. From here, you will return to Monjo village and then to Lukla. The 7 days Everest Short Trek ends at Kathmandu.

In the early morning, we will take a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu Domestic Airport. Within 35 minutes of scenic flight, you reach Lukla. After having lunch there, we will walk towards the beautiful Phakding village. The trail move alongside the Dudh Koshi River crosses suspension bridges, and the rhododendron, pine trees. Several Sherpa settlements will pop out on the way to Phakding. You can also make a short visit to Phakding monastery. Enjoy your dinner with the team and local Sherpa people!

A little bit tough walking takes you to the gateway of Everest region and the famous stop for the Everest climbers; Namche Bazaar. Today’s trek begins with a steep climb. The trail passes several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, picturesque Sherpa settlements, Monjo and Joraslle village, and rhododendron forests. Monjo village is the entrance point of the famous Sagarmatha National Park. Explore around the attractive trade market of Tibet and Nepal!

Namche Bazaar is famous among trekkers in the Everest region, especially for altitude acclimatization and is the gateway to high Himalayas. Namche have two suitable acclimatization point; Syangboche and the Everest view hotel. Hiking up to these vantage points you can enjoy the views of Mt. Everest and the surrounding Himalayas like Ama Dablam, Thamserku. The view of Khumjung valley is amazing too. On your return to Namche, explore around the town and interact with people to experience their warm hospitality and learn unique culture!

Today’s trail initially descends to the Dudh Koshi River before you reach to Phunke Tenga and then, climb up to Tengboche. The trail passes through the forest filled with juniper, rhododendron, and pine trees. Reaching Tengboche, you will hike to the Tengboche monastery for the best view of the Himalayas and landscapes. You will witness the views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Taboche, and other neighboring peaks on the backdrop of this ancient Buddhist monastery. Later, we will return to Tengboche.

After having morning breakfast and re-visit to Tengboche monastery for the breathtaking sunrise view over the towering peaks, we will continue our walking back to Monjo village. Monjo village is the last settlement before reaching Namche Bazaar. Trekking through the same trails and passing Mani-walls, prayer flags, rhododendron forests, we reach Namche. After having lunch at Namche, we retrace our trek to Joraslle, cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, and reach Monjo.

Today’s trail passes several small yet, charming Sherpa villages such as Phakding, Benkar, Chaurikharka. Trekking back to Lukla, cross several suspension bridges, strings of prayer flags, rhododendron forests witnessing the wonderful view of surrounding mountains, landscapes, and rivers. Take rest for the rest of the day or roam around the place!

While flying back to Kathmandu, re-witness the eye-catchy snowy mountains views from the top. The view of green landscapes and dense forests are amazing.
